CARS!, a comprehensive survey of the automobile; WILD, WEIRD & WACKY, a compendium of the strangest images ever recorded on film; and THE WPA MULTIMEDIA SAMPLER (a 2 disc set), a rich assortment of moving images, photographs, and sound effects from all the compartments of the WPA Film Library. Besides the entertainment value, these moving images, sound effects, and photographs can be extracted and used professionally on a limited basis for in-house production purposes. The WPA Film Library is among the world's largest film and video archives, holding rights and original materials to over one million individual moving-image sequences. images from the WPA Film Library have appeared in a variety of multimedia projects, distributed and developed by voyager, C-Cube, knowledge Industries, Software Sorcery, digital F/X, commodore CDTV, Access Softek, and National Geographic. Over 25 different footage archives are held within the WPA Film Library, including British PathÈ News & Pictorials (historical material from 1896 to 1970), Wish YOU WERE HERE (contemporary geographical material, worldwide) Hullabaloo (rock & roll from 1964-1966), Colorstock (color Americana from 1940-1965) and Media Access (contemporary materials of sports, the West, and domesticity). All materials housed in the archives are the original camera elements, sourced on 35mm and 16mm film, one inch video, and BetaSP.
